I wanted to do a video about my weight loss journey through the Dukan diet. I have always found other Youtubers videos really inspiring and I hope you will find this too. I am about to embark on another weight loss journey which if you revisit my channel in a few weeks time you will find out more about, but until then I wanted to share this. Growing up I never thought about my weight, I was naturally slim, infact I prided myself on how much I could eat and not gain any weight as a result. It was’t until I went to university that I noticed that I started to put on weight. My jeans got tighter and slowly over 3 years I put on a stone an a half, nine and half kilos. I had never had to manage my weight or even think about what I ate and so I was stuck on how to lose the weight. I ran regularly, went on fad diets which now I look back at were ridiculous. I starved myself only to binge eat and so a pattern of unhealthy habits formed. I hated myself in photos and my self confidence took an all time plummet. Fast forward to 2014 and whilst on holiday in Goa with my boyfriend he proposed. It was the most wonderful day and holiday. I made a promise to myself on that holiday that I would lose the weight I had gained all those years ago and do it in a healthy way which would be sustainable. I knew I needed to change my lifestyle and my whole approach to my health. I wanted to feel and look amazing on my special day and used that as my motiviation. A family member mentioned the Dukan diet and I liked the sound of it. I spent several weeks researching it, bought the book and decided to give it a go. I spent the following 12 months losing my weight and come my wedding day I felt a million dollars.
